Short Course on Remote Sensing (RS) and GIS in Water Resource Management and Climate Change
Overview:
This short course is designed to build participants’ understanding of how Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be used in water resource management and climate change studies. The course offers a balanced combination of lectures and hands-on sessions, allowing participants to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications in real-world environmental and water-related problems.
What to Learn:
Participants will learn the fundamental concepts of RS and GIS, including spatial data handling, analysis, visualization, image processing, georeferencing, and projection systems. They will also gain practical exposure to hydrological analysis, watershed delineation, rainfall mapping, climate-related studies, and advanced tools and technologies such as SAR, Google Earth Engine, Python, machine learning, and climate data visualization platforms.
